I was diagnosed with psoriasis of the hands, my doc wants me to do light therapy but before I do I’d like to try anything else I can. Can I purchase an over the counter drug to get rid of this thing?
From my experience nothing you can buy over the counter will work. In fact, even the wrong prescription won’t work. Take it from me, I suffered for 20 years. Many doctors thought I had eczema.
FINALLY I went to a dermatologist that diagnosed it as Psoriasis and gave me a cream called SYNALAR. It completed erradicated the problem! You can imagine my relief after 20 years!!!
I’m not sure if you can use synalar on your hands though…. although you don’t have to get the greasy ointment, you can get cream…. and perhaps use it at night with those special gloves to keep the cream on.
Light therapy sounds right on for the hands.
I would listen to your doctor. This is not something that gets rid of easily…. and having it on your hands is awful. Don’t fool around with this.
